It is highly recommended by most homeowners insurance companies and gas fireplace manufacturers that you have your gas fireplace serviced annually to keep your unit working safely and efficiently. Please make sure you have carbon monoxide detectors in your home and change your batteries annually for your safety. Check them regularly to be sure they are functioning properly.

Your maintenance appointment will include:

Cleaning

The entire unit will be completely vacuumed out, including your logs, as well as underneath the fire box where the fireplace controls and parts are. We’ll find all of the nooks where soot builds up and insects make webs that constrict the gas flow in your fireplace. All obstructions will be removed.

Operation

Every part in your fireplace including your blower, burner, pilot assembly, thermocouple and thermopile will be inspected to insure they are working at full capacity. Sensors on all parts will also be cleaned to improve their performance.

Integrity

During our visit your logs, wiring, firebox, venting, main burner combustion and ignition will be inspected, adjusted, and tested for deterioration, proper connectivity, functionality, condition and most importantly, safety.

Adjustments

Any adjustment that needs to be made to any of your parts or settings will be made in order to be sure your unit is operating efficiently and looking it’s best.

Extras

Firelite will also check your remote and the transmitter inside the control box to be sure they are working properly and change batteries if needed. We will also check your wall switch to be sure it is operating as it should be. If it isn’t, we will change it for you at no additional cost.

Final Touch

All glass enclosures will be thoroughly cleaned and new embers will be skillfully placed on your burner so your flames burn high and bright again, leaving your fireplace looking it’s best. All included in your maintenance appointment.
